A Guide for Beer Lovers
Where to stay
A lot of the most exciting beer sites are in and around the main square (called
the Grande Place if you're talking to a Francophone, which means most Bruxellois,
or Grote Markt in Flemish). So if you can find yourself a decent hotel, at
a good price, which is close to the Grande Place you'll have enough beer
locations to keep you happy for days within a few minutes walk. We got a
good deal at the
Hotel Aris Grande Place (just 20 metres from the square in Rue
des Herbes/Grasmarkt, which itself contains some must-see beer sites) by booking
through Expedia.
The Ibis and Novotel are also quite close by but we have seen good reports
of the Hotel Atlas
which seems to offer some good deals.
Where to go
We're assuming that if you want to know about sight-seeing in Brussels you'll
have got yourself a guide book, so we'll only mention the tourist magnets where
they act as a signpost to important beer locations. But in the best
traditions of self-indulgence, we will just point out that if you want to tell
your friends what a lot of museums you visited, you could start with the
Museum of Chocolate.
